4. FIRST AID

GENERAL

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

INHALATION

Remove to fresh air, keep the patient warm and at rest. If breathing has stopped, administer artificial respiration. Place in stable position on one side and keep warm with blankets etc. Seek medical advice.

SKIN CONTACT

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or use an appropriate skin cleaner. Do NOT use solvents or thinners.

EYE CONTACT

Remove any contact lenses. Hold the eyelids apart. Irrigate copiously with clean, fresh water for at least 10 minutes. Seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

PROPER FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT

Recommended: alcohol resistant foam, CO2, powders, water spray. Not to be used: water jet.

FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS

Decomposition products may be a hazard to health. Fire will produce dense black smoke containing hazardous products of combustion (see Section 10). The product is not combustible.

PERSONAL PROTECTION WHEN FIREFIGHTING

The personal protective equipment required is provided in section 8. Professional fire-fighters are required to use an air-fed system when dealing with major fires.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

OTHER INFORMATION

If the product enters drains or sewers, the local water company should be contacted immediately; in the case of contamination of streams, rivers or lakes, the Environmental Agency. Clean preferably with a detergent; avoid use of solvents. Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses. Place in container for disposal according to local regulations (see section 13). Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent materials, e.g. sand, earth, vermiculite and diatomaceous earth. Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8. Provide adequate ventilation.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

HANDLING ADVICE

Avoid skin and eye contact. Smoking, eating and drinking are forbidden in the work area. For personal protective equipment see Section 8. Always keep in containers made of the same material as the supply container. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations may apply to the handling of containers of this product.

STORAGE

Observe the label precautions. Keep out of frost. Store in a dry, cold and well ventilated place away from sources of heat, ignition and direct sunlight. Store separately from oxidising agents, strongly alkaline and strongly acid materials. Containers which are opened should be properly resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

EXPOSURE CONTROL

Spray mist contains all substances of the product and must not be inhaled. Provide adequate ventilation.

RESP. PROTECTION

Dust filter P2 may be necessary when spraying the product.

EYE PROTECTION

Eye protection designed to protect against liquid splashes should be worn.

HAND PROTECTION

Barrier creams should not be applied once exposure has occurred. Barrier creams may help to protect exposed areas of the skin but are not substitutes for full physical protection. Use nitrile or neoprene gloves.

SKIN PROTECTION

When spraying use suit covering the whole body. Protective clothing when necessary.

Keep away from oxidising agents, strongly alkaline and strongly acidic materials to prevent the exothermic reactions.

In a fire , hazardous decomposition products such as smoke, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxides of nitrogen may be produced.

13. DISPOSAL
Waste must be disposed of at approved landfill/waste storage or traement facility. Do not allow into drains or water courses. Wastes, including emptied containers, are controlled wastes and should be disposed of in accordance with regulations made under the Control of Pollution Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
