4. FIRST AID

GENERAL

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

INHALATION

Seek medical advice. Place in stable position on one side and keep warm with blankets etc. If breathing has stopped, administer artificial respiration. Remove to fresh air, keep the patient warm and at rest.

SKIN CONTACT

Do NOT use solvents or thinners. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or use an appropriate skin cleaner. Remove contaminated clothing.

EYE CONTACT

Seek medical advice if symptoms persist. Irrigate copiously with clean, fresh water for at least 10 minutes. Hold the eyelids apart. Remove any contact lenses.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

PROPER FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT

Not to be used: water jet. Recommended: alcohol resistant foam, CO2, powders, water spray.

FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS

The product is not combustible. Fire will produce dense black smoke containing hazardous products of combustion (see Section 10). Decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

PERSONAL PROTECTION WHEN FIREFIGHTING

The personal protective equipment required is provided in section 8. Professional fire-fighters are required to use an air-fed system when dealing with major fires.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

OTHER INFORMATION

Provide adequate ventilation. Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8. Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent materials, e.g. sand, earth, vermiculite and diatomaceous earth. Place in container for disposal according to local regulations (see section 13). Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses. Clean preferably with a detergent; avoid use of solvents. If the product enters drains or sewers, the local water company should be contacted immediately; in the case of contamination of streams, rivers or lakes, the Environmental Agency.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

HANDLING ADVICE

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations may apply to the handling of containers of this product. Always keep in containers made of the same material as the supply container. For personal protective equipment see Section 8. Smoking, eating and drinking are forbidden in the work area. Avoid skin and eye contact.

STORAGE

Containers which are opened should be properly resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Store separately from oxidising agents, strongly alkaline and strongly acid materials. Store in a dry, cold and well ventilated place away from sources of heat, ignition and direct sunlight. Keep out of frost. Observe the label precautions.
8. EXPOSURE CONTROL/PERSONAL PROTECTION

EXPOSURE CONTROL

Provide adequate ventilation. Spray mist contains all substances of the product and must not be inhaled.

RESP. PROTECTION

Dust filter P2 may be necessary when spraying the product.

EYE PROTECTION

Eye protection designed to protect against liquid splashes should be worn.

HAND PROTECTION

Use nitrile or neoprene gloves. Barrier creams may help to protect exposed areas of the skin but are not substitutes for full physical protection. Barrier creams should not be applied once exposure has occurred.

SKIN PROTECTION

Protective clothing when necessary. When spraying use suit covering the whole body.

STABILITY

Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions (see section 7).

MATERIALS TO AVOID

Keep away from oxidising agents, strongly alkaline and strongly acidic materials to prevent the exothermic reactions.

In a fire , hazardous decomposition products such as smoke, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxides of nitrogen may be produced.

13. DISPOSAL
Wastes, including emptied containers, are controlled wastes and should be disposed of in accordance with regulations made under the Control of Pollution Act and the Environmental Protection Act. Do not allow into drains or water courses. Waste must be disposed of at approved landfill/waste storage or traement facility.
